ATLANTA – At Microsoft Convergence 2012 in Houston, Microsoft Executives reiterated their commitment to ERP in the cloud and also announced a timeline for the availability of fully cloud-enabled Dynamics ERP solutions. OmniVue, a Microsoft Dynamics partner specializing in hosted business management solutions for the distribution industry, has offered the private-cloud hosting option since 2003. With Microsoft’s increased backing for mobile enhancements around ERP software, OmniVue is now able to deliver securely hosted solutions with complete mobile access.
One of the main takeaways from Convergence 2012 is Microsoft’s pledge that Dynamics ERP solutions will run seamlessly on mobile devices, including the iPad. This means companies no longer have to weigh software decisions based on the mobile capabilities of a particular solution, because every product in the Microsoft Dynamics ERP family, including Dynamics CRM, will have the ability to run on your device of choice. This makes it easier for small and midsize businesses (SMBs) to reap the benefits of a cloud-based solution and spend more time growing the organization instead of working around technology limitations.
These are promising developments for OmniVue clients and others who currently use Microsoft Dynamics solutions, because these innovations are a direct result of Microsoft’s commitment to research and development. By staying ahead of the game and designing solutions based on future business needs and trends, Microsoft Dynamics users can trust that these products will help maintain a profitable competitive advantage for their organization, both now and in the years ahead. For Microsoft partners like OmniVue who already provide hosting capabilities, the commitment to mobile enhancements will add even more value to the offering.
Microsoft announced a few key dates for cloud-enabled Dynamics ERP releases:
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 will be available globally in Q4 2012. It includes industry enhancements as well as SQL-based business intelligence capabilities.
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 will be available in Q4 of 2012. The beta release for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 is expected in May 2012.
- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 will be available in Q4 of 2012.
Both Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and GP 2013 will be cloud-enabled for Windows Azure and tailored toward the needs of small and midsize businesses.
